JOSEPH C. BODIFORD is the principal of Bodiford Law, P.A. Is holds both his J.D. law degree (1995) and his LL.M., or master of law degree (2014) from the Stetson University College of Law. He has been practicing since 1996.
Mr. Bodiford is Board Certified in Criminal Trial Law by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education. He is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Bodiford is AV* rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the national attorney rating service. Mr. Bodiford is a Master Lawyer in the WIlliam H. Stafford American Inn of Court, and a alumni Barrister in the Goldberg-Cacciatore Criminal Law Inn of Court. Mr. Bodiford is a former assistant state attorney. He is currently and Adjunct Professor and co-director of the Trial Team (as well as a coach) at Florida State University College of Law, and has a developed a new groundbreaking course on Cross Examination for FSU Law. Mr. Bodiford was an Adjunct Professor at Stetson University College of Law from 2009 to 2015, where he taught Trial Advocacy, Florida Criminal Procedure, Legal Drafting, and coached and judges trial teams for many years.
Mr. Bodiford is a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has previously served on Florida Bar Grievance Committee 13F, the Florida Bar Criminal Law Certification Committee, the Florida Bar Traffic Rules Committee (chair, 2005 to 2006), and the Florida Bar Rules of Judicial Administration Committee.

A Tallahassee native and graduate of Lincoln High School, Mr. Bodiford earned his J.D. at Stetson University College of Law in 1995 and his LL.M. (Master of Laws) (2014) degrees at Stetson Law. He received his B.A (1991) and M.M. (1993) degrees at Florida State University. He has been a semi-professional trumpet player for many years. He was the first winner of the National Trumpet Competition in Washington, D.C, and has toured the United States and Europe with various classical ensembles. He has played in numerous wind ensembles and orchestras in Tallahassee and Tampa Bay area. Mr. Bodiford is a 6th-generation Floridian, and has been recognized by the Florida Genealogical Society as the descendant of a Florida pioneer.
Mr. Bodiford has extensive courtroom experience, having tried over 100 jury trials and countless bench trials, in both criminal and civil matters. He defends clients accused of any and all types of crimes in federal and Florida courts. Additionally, he uses his litigation expertise to fight for clients in family law cases (divorce, child support enforcement, adoption) and civil litigation cases (business disputes, real estate litigation, corporate matters).
